The thing about living in a Euro (or US-) centric world is that one's perceptions are always heavily influenced by the culture and attitudes of the West. Were one to look into any readily available list of important things, or important people, or important ideas, more often than not, one would find these to be heavily dominated by Dead White Men.
So it is refreshing to see this list - a Japanese perspective.
But why is it no surprise that a large percentage of these so-called important human beings are from popular culture? I mean, come on: Bruce Lee? The common denominator, as usual, is the lowest common denominator. Vox populi, people!
